- Texture & Grain: Typically features a straight grain, though it can be wavy or irregular, with a medium-to-fine texture and a natural, lustrous finish.
- Workability: Challenging. It can dull cutters quickly and exudes a sticky resin if machined with dull tools. It is brittle and requires pre-drilling for fasteners.
